St. John's United Methodist Church - A Place to Believe....Belong....Become A prayer vigil for the future Pastor and leadership of St. John's will be held Saturday, Jan. 31st. New Adult Study Sunday Mornings: "A Hop, Skip and Jump Through the Bible" Led by Gary Johnson @ 8:45am. Everyone welcome. New Adult Study: "Prayer: Does it Make Any Difference?" by Philip Yancey. Sunday Mornings @ 8:45am. Led by Jan Goble ~ Everyone Welcome Nursing Home Ministry: January 25th @ 2:30pm Evangelism committee will lead the worship at Fleur Heights Care Center. Everyone welcome to join. VeggieTales Movie Day: Free family event, Feb. 28th 10am ~ 12pm "Abe and the Amazing Promise". We will watch the movie, have snacks, silly songs and crafts. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up in the Narthex Cookie Donations Needed: Every third Sunday of each month. See Jay Peek or Linda Jones if you would like to donate. Acquire the Fire: 20 youth and 5 adults will be attending the Acquire the Fire event in Des Moines on Feb. 20th & 21st. The Group has been working hard at Bucc's Arena cleaning up after hockey games to earn money for their tickets. Your monetary donations would be appreciated to help cover the cost of food and traveling expenses for the weekend. If you would like to contribute, please make a check out to St. John's with "youth group" in the memo. ATF: Monetary Donations are still being collected for the Youth Group to attend Acquire the Fire. Emergency Prayer Chain: We are making changes to the emergency prayer chain. The emergency prayer chain is used after office hours. If you would like to be on the call list, please contact the church office. Mentor Snack Providers and Youth Group Food Servants are needed. The clip boards are in the Narthex for you to sign up. Thanks! Trinity Supper Club: St. John's has committed to serve Trinity Supper Club on Feb. 7th. Anyone wishing to help cook and serve, please contact the church office. Trinity Supper Club...St. John's has committed to provide the meals the first Saturday of every other month. Six to eight volunteers are needed for February and April. |
